
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s normal to feel unsure about what to expect. During your first session, your therapist will take time to learn more about you, your concerns, and what you hope to gain from counseling.
You may be asked questions about your current challenges, personal history, and strengths so that your therapist can better understand how to support you. Together, you will begin identifying goals for therapy and discussing possible next steps.
Most importantly, your first session is an opportunity to begin building a trusting relationship with your therapist in a safe and supportive environment.
